Peel Land and Property has appointed Darran Lawless as Development Director for its transformational Liverpool Waters scheme.
In a seamless transition Darran will take over from incumbent Development Director Lindsey Ashworth when he retires from Peel Land and Property following a 30 year career with the Group in April.
Darran joins the Liverpool Waters team at a pivotal time for the £5 billion regeneration project, with construction recently commencing on Peel’s PRS apartment block for Regenda, Plaza 1821, along with Your Housing Group’s Hive City Docks and Moda Living’s The Lexington, which will collectively deliver 1000 apartments to Princes Dock over the next two years.
Darran brings over 28 years’ experience to the role including most recently establishing development consultancy Petre Properties which provided strategic advice for the delivery of residential and mixed use projects. Prior to this he was Managing Director of Engine of the North, Cheshire East Council’s wholly owned development company, formed to undertake development of the Council’s £400m assets to bring forward new housing, growth, regeneration and capital receipts.
Darran has also spent 15 years as Development Director at Muse Developments responsible for numerous schemes throughout the North West including St Pauls Square, Liverpool on behalf of English Cities Fund.
Darran added: “I’m delighted to join Peel Land and Property at such an exciting time and am looking forward to working with the Liverpool Waters’ team in building on the excellent progress made to date as well as delivering projects that continue to realise the ambitions of Peel and its partners.”
James Whittaker, Peel Land and Property Group Development Director said: “It’s been 10 years since Peel revealed its ambitions for Liverpool Waters and Lindsey has done an incredible job in obtaining planning consent, delivering residential development, securing Everton Football Club’s interest in relocating to the site, assisting Liverpool City Council in its plans to bring a new Ocean Liner terminal to the City and working with the Manx Government to secure the relocation of the Isle of Man ferry. Darran will build on this success as we enter the next exciting phase of Liverpool Waters development.”
