Three pioneering Merseyside businesses will compete to take top prize at the 2019 Merseyside Innovation Awards (MIA) ceremony on Wednesday 10th July at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Spa, Liverpool.
DriverNet, a mobile workforce management system, ORCHA, a digital health app reviewer and PIN IoT, a cloud based asset management system, will go head-to-head for the top prize of £10,000.
Each finalist will present their innovation to a panel of prominent Merseyside business leaders selected from across the commercial spectrum, including Rachel Clacher – Moneypenny, Paul Colbon – Liverpool Chirochem and Keith O’Connor – Fleetsolve Ltd.

PIN IoT have developed a unique tracking solution for waste container fleets, leveraging new wireless technology to transform the waste industry supply chain. Previous container tracking technology has fell short of the mark resulting in large-scale inefficiencies, whereas PIN IoT’s cloud-based solution delivers real-time visibility at low cost.
The three finalists were shortlisted from nearly 30 hopeful applicants.
Brian McCann, Merseyside Innovation Awards founder “The standard of applications this year was incredibly high and made selecting just three finalists a serious challenge.
“Innovations were diverse and ranged from commercial vehicles being repurposed to run on zero carbon hydrogen, a portable fitness system enabling users to perform full body workouts anywhere and, next generation needle disposal.
“To be selected as one of the final three is an achievement to be proud of and demonstrates the inventiveness of Merseyside businesses.”
On the evening, MIA will also present the Prestige prize, which is dedicated to larger businesses with a turnover of between £1m and £25m.
