The Sovini Group has signed up to help young people in Liverpool prepare for the fast changing world of work.

They have partnered with The Careers & Enterprise Company to become a ‘Cornerstone Employer’ in the Liverpool City Region Careers Hub. They will invest time and resources to support local schools and colleges with their careers education and with inspiring young people.

Research shows that young people who have regular, meaningful interactions with employers while at school are less likely to be NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) when they leave.

The Sovini Group will work closely with The Careers & Enterprise Company, the Liverpool LEP and the Liverpool Enterprise Adviser Network (a network of volunteers from the world of business who are each matched to a local school to support their careers activity).

Together they will ensure that all young people across the region have access to regular, meaningful engagement with employers and gain the vital experiences of the workplace they need to help them make informed choices about their futures.

Cornerstone Employers act as champions to encourage new businesses in the area to get involved in supporting schools and colleges, as well as encouraging their own staff to become volunteer ‘Enterprise Advisers’.

Kerry Beirne, Head of People and Learning at The Sovini Group said:

“We are delighted to become a Cornerstone Employer.  We are committed to working with local schools and colleges to help young people raise their aspirations and consider all the career options available to them.”

Sally Beevers, Careers Hub Lead at the Liverpool City Region LEP said:

“Cornerstone Employers are an important element of the employer/education engagement model. Companies such as The Sovini Group are instrumental in inspiring young people for the world of work and I would like to thank them for investing their time to support our local schools and colleges.”

Claudia Harris, CEO at The Careers & Enterprise Company, said:

“We are delighted that The Sovini Group has decided to become a Cornerstone Employer in Liverpool City Region. All young people deserve great careers education, to inspire them, support their aspirations and prepare them for the fast-changing world of work.”
