Sustained interest in this year’s Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards has attracted many high quality businesses to submit entries – with many new faces joining the fold.
Judging for the awards, which will take place on 19th May, is now underway.
The judges, who include notable business people from across the city region, now have the task of whittling down the entries to a shortlist for each of the 17 award categories. Judges include Sara Wilde, Managing Director at Influential and chair of the
Visitor Economy Board, Donna Howitt, Business Performance Director at Liverpool ONE and Robin Tudor from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
Categories including Tourism Experience of the Year, Bar of the Year and Taste Liverpool recognise the region’s best and brightest stars of the tourism industry.
Sara Wilde, chair of the Visitor Economy Board at the Liverpool Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “It is wonderful to see the calibre of the entrants to this year’s awards.
“The businesses that comprise and contribute to the region’s visitor economy are a real asset and it is great to see local businesses coming forward for recognition. The judges are really looking forward to the process and seeing the outstanding work that has taken place in the city region over the last 12 months.”
More than 550 movers and shakers from the tourism industry that play a part in Liverpool City Region’s £3.2bn visitor economy are expected to attend the star studded event at St George’s Hall.
