LEP strengthens business representation on its board with seven key appointments
Seven new private sector members have been appointed to the Board of the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) to help drive forward the City Region’s economic growth over the next 3 years.
The new appointments, which were endorsed by the LEP Board earlier today (Thursday, 5th October 2017), have a wealth of experience in the region’s key growth sectors, international investment, skills and the third sector.
The new members are:
- Prof Janet Beer, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Liverpool
- Paul Corcoran, MD Agent Marketing
- Dr. Jon Hague, Vice President Open Innovation, Unilever R&D
- Laura O’Brien, VP & Site Head at Seqirus
- John Syvret, CEO, Cammell Laird Group
- Angela White, Chief Executive Sefton CVS
- Mark Whitworth, Chief Executive of Peel Ports Group
On the appointments, Chair of the Liverpool City Region LEP, Asif Hamid MBE said: “I’m delighted to welcome our new members to the LEP Board. All seven new board members are leaders in their fields and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the LEP directly related to the LEP’s priorities. These appointments add to the outstanding Board members we already have in place and ensure we have an effective and diverse leadership that supports our continued work to drive economic growth. I look forward to working with them to deliver increased prosperity across the City Region.”
The LEP Board provides strategic insight and guidance to the Combined Authority on the economic challenges and opportunities facing the City Region and champions a partnership approach to realising its potential.
Professor Janet Beer, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Liverpool, said: “I am delighted to join the Board of the Liverpool Enterprise Partnership. Paul Corcoran, MD of Agent Marketing said: “I’m really looking forward to joining the LEP Board, not only to represent the digital and creative community but also to reflect the aspirations and ambitions of small businesses across Liverpool City Region.
