Liverpool City Region’s key sectors and their potential to accelerate economic growth are to be showcased at the International Festival for Business 2014.
The City Region’s Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is co-ordinating a range of special events and activities across the region as part of the IFB Programme.
The Festival runs throughout June and July and is expected to attract a global audience to host city Liverpool via delegate registration and international media engagement.
Delegates, including investors from around the world, will be able to see first-hand how the Region’s Key Sector Growth Strategy is delivering new opportunities for businesses to grow.
These four key sectors of the City Region’s economy identified for their potential to drive further growth will feature throughout the IFB event.
Liverpool City Region LEP is responsible for the strategic development of these key sectors – the Low Carbon and Energy Economy; the Knowledge / Innovation Economy, the Visitor Economy and SUPERPORT – the area’s port and logistics offer.
Liverpool City Region LEP is the only one of 39 similar organisations in England with a private sector-led membership base, and LEP Members ranging from multinationals to world-renowned research organisations and pioneering, entrepreneurial SMEs will form part of the LEP-led elements of the IFB Programme.
The current IFB programme is available at http://www.ifb2014.com/ and a summary of the LEP-inspired events is below.
LEP Chair Robert Hough says: “IFB 2014 is a truly global event which Liverpool City Region is proud to host on behalf of the UK. The event will not only enable the UK to showcase its export prowess and inward investment qualities but also for the City Region to demonstrate the range and diversity of our economy, and, crucially, the opportunities for businesses from all over the world to be part of our success.”
He adds: “Our Members are at the heart of the LEP and they know their businesses and their sectors better than anyone. Together, we can present a credible and compelling case for further investment across our key growth sectors, and our involvement at IFB, with Members and Partners, will demonstrate why Liverpool City Region is one of England’s fastest-growing economies.”
