All around us is our ‘built environment’ – it’s both where we live and how we live, often seen through the regeneration of buildings, neighbourhoods, and communities.

As a key growth sector, the ‘built environment’ (BE) board for Liverpool City Region, established by the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), has recently appointed several new members.

As well as regeneration, the board also address transport, energy, skills, climate change and look at how environmental changes will influence our environment in the future. Building back post-covid is a priority as the board look to position the region to be at the forefront for investment both nationally and internationally.

Led by Peter Grieve, Operations Director at Robertson North West, the BE board already provides strategic leadership with leading figures from a wide range of backgrounds and represents many different types of business, including construction, architecture, engineering, social enterprise and property development plus representation from universities and local authorities.

Peter said: “The future of a sustainable built environment is key to the success of our city region as we adapt and change in line with economic recovery plans to ‘Build Back Better’ post pandemic. The composition of the board reflects the diversity of sectors shaping our environment, and welcoming these new members expands our offering even further – I look forward to working together towards a brighter 2022.”

Two of the new members are Marc Nadim – a Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer at Mott MacDonald and Dawn Coward – an experienced Major Projects Officer and Planning Consultant at Pad-20 Consultancy
