University Centre St Helens Gains Prestigious Chartered Accreditation

Accounting qualifications at University Centre St Helens reaches new heights having gained accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) earlier this month.

The institution was awarded with an additional seal of approval from the accounting profession, making University Centre St Helens just one of a handful of educational institutions in the Northwest which is offering Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualifications.

CIMA is the world’s largest and leading professional body of management accountants, working at the heart of business. A CIMA qualification offers a dynamic mix of practical and strategic subjects designed to give the cutting edge in financial management. This accreditation now means students can continue their accounting studies at University Centre St Helens to an even higher level.

Mike Kelly, Head of Business and Professional Studies at University Centre St Helens commented: “This is excellent news for both University Centre St Helens and accounting professionals. The CIMA qualification offers an excellent opportunity for anyone with an interest in accounting to gain qualifications leading to careers in a wide range of business sectors, from public to private, or to pursue a career in business.”

The news comes after a recent survey by CIMA suggested that the salaries of professionals working in Management accountancy rose at twice the national average.

To celebrate the approval from CIMA, University Centre St Helens will be holding a special launch event during University Centre St Helens’ open evening on Wednesday 20th January from 5.00pm – 7.00pm.
