Chair of Liverpool City Region LEP Robert Hough today (Thursday, 3 April, 2014) met with Prime Minister David Cameron to outline LEP’s growth ambitions.

Robert was with a number of other LEP Chairs to discuss shared issues such as the importance of business engagement with the skills agenda and also how there should be greater flexibility in the future as to how devolved funds can be spent.

The LEP, on Monday, submitted its growth deal documentation on behalf of the City Region and is seeking over £260million of funding to enable growth.

Commenting on the meeting Robert said: “Today was useful in articulating LEP issues collectively to the Prime Minster. It was also important to outline the Liverpool City Region’s ambitious plans for growth potential. Only this week we submitted our Growth Plan that sets out a number of investments that we believe will help stimulate job growth and which will support a rebalancing of the national economy.”
