The Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards has today announced its shortlist to recognise the very best of the City Region’s tourism and hospitality industry.

Each year, the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards judging panel sifts through hundreds of applications to narrow down the very best in the business.

The shortlisted businesses will now go forward to the final judging panel ahead of the awards on May 18th at the iconic St George’s Hall.

The panel now have the difficult task of deciding who will be crowned winners in their respective categories at the prestigious ceremony.

Chris Brown, Director at Marketing Liverpool, said: “This year there was an unbelievable number of high quality entries, including a lot of new names, from across the region’s tourism sector. 2016 was a fantastic year for tourism in the region so it has made choosing a select handful of businesses for our shortlist even harder.

“We look forward to the event in May when we will be celebrating the region’s cream of the crop and reflecting on a truly remarkable last twelve months.”

The Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards is also calling out for the general public to nominate individuals or tourism businesses that provided outstanding service in 2016.

In addition to the 16 categories shortlisted, the award ceremony also includes The People’s Choice Award, sponsored by the British Music Experience. This is the only category voted for by the public, honouring the individuals and tourism businesses achieving excellence in customer service across the Liverpool City Region.

You can vote for your favourite business or individual from next week by visiting www.lcrtourismawards.com and tell us why your chosen individual or tourism business should be crowned winner at the glittering awards ceremony on 18th May.

More than 550 movers and shakers from the tourism industry that play a part in Liverpool City Region’s £4.1bn visitor economy are expected to attend the annual event hosted by the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership. Sponsors this year include Liverpool ONE, Liverpool John Lennon Airport, ComCab Liverpool, Liverpool BID Company, British Music Experience, ACC Liverpool, Marketing Liverpool and Influential.
